（１）電車の時間がいつも正確である事の説明
Generally, punctuality is considered very important in Japan. We have been strictly taught to respect time since childhood. For example, we are supposed to arrive 5 minutes before the meeting time.
一般的には、日本人にとっては時間を守ることは重要です。 私たちは子供の頃から、時間を大切にするように教えられてきました。 例えば、私たちは待ち合わせには5分前に集合するように教えられています。
（２）日本では、靴を脱いで家に入る事の説明
In Japan, we have a habit of taking off our shoes in the house. As far as I know it’s been like this ever since we started wearing sandals. In addition, we can keep the floors clean during the rainy season.
日本では家に入るときは靴を脱ぎます。 私の知る限り、日本人は部屋の中を清潔にし続ける傾向があります。 さらに靴を脱ぐことによって梅雨の季節は床を汚さずに済むのです。
（３）着物について
Most Japanese people don’t really wear kimonos these days. I think one of the reasons is that kimonos are a little tricky to wear. However, we do wear kimonos on special occasions such as weddings and festivals.
私の知る限り、ほとんどの日本人は着物を着ません。
なぜなら洋服に比べて着る手間がかかるため、次第に洋服が一般的になりました。
しかし、結婚式やお祭りのような特別な日に私たちは着物を着ることもあります。
（４）漫画について
Japanese comic books, called “manga”, are an important part of our culture. Manga is not only for kids, there are many types of manga published for all ages. These days, Manga is popular worldwide.
日本では漫画は大衆文化の1つです。
それはあらゆる年代むけに多くの漫画が描かれているからです。
今では世界中で日本の漫画が読まれております。
（５）刺身について
Sashimi is food that we eat raw. Because it’s uncooked we can enjoy its quality and freshness. For instance, sliced raw tuna is eaten more and more around the world.
刺身は生のままで食べる料理です。
日本料理の特徴の1つは新鮮な材料をそのまま料理することで、材料の味を生かすことにあります。
昨今マグロの刺身は日本だけでなく世界中に普及しています。
（６）寿司について
Vinegar is used in rice for sushi. Originally, we used vinegar to prevent the food from going bad. It then became the dish we all know now. Nowadays, Sushi is eaten all around the world.
寿司のしゃりはお酢を使っています。
もともとは腐るのを防止するために酢を使っていました。そして今の寿司になりました。
今では寿司は世界中で食されています。
（７）箸について
In Japan, we often use chopsticks when we eat. They were introduced from China a long time ago. We always use chopsticks when we eat Japanese food but we sometimes use them when eating certain western dishes.
日本では食事の際は、箸を使います。
箸は中国から伝来したといわれております。
日本の家庭では和食の時はいつも箸ですが、ときには洋食にも箸を使います。
（８）富士山について
Mount Fuji is considered Japan’s symbol. Not only because it’s the highest mountain in Japan, but also because of its distinctive beautiful feature. It was inscribed on the World Heritage list in 2013.
富士山は日本の象徴とされています。
日本で最も高い山であるからということだけでなく、その風貌があまりに独特で美しいからです。
2013年には世界遺産にも登録されました。
（９）お辞儀について
In Japan, it is more common to bow instead of shaking hands. We are taught to do so as a gesture to show respect to others. For example, bowing is an integral part of traditional martial arts such as Kendo and Karate.
日本人はお辞儀を頻繁におこないます。
それは日本では相手に敬意を表すように小さい頃から教育をされているからです。
例えばお辞儀は空手や剣道といった武道の一部です。

I’ve heard that Tokyo Skytree is very popular these days because it’s the newest and tallest tower in Japan. In addition, when the sky is clear we can see Mount Fuji.
私の知っている中では、東京スカイツリーはとてもポピュラーです。 なぜなら、日本で新しく最も高いタワーだからです。 それに加えて天気のいい日は富士山が見る事ができますよ。
